The
vineyards are planted to white root stock with colombard, ugni
blanc and gros manseng essentially, with new sauvignon and chardonnay
plantations. Colombard, fresh and aromatic, is
nowadays blended with other varieties such as gros manseng, sauvignon
and chardonnay.
Red producing vineyards, although not much extensive until
now, is tending to develop in some sectors, where soils are favourable to
quality. Tannat, merlot, cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc are the 4 basic
varieties which lend a distinctive quality to our red Vins de Pays.
CVG also offers bulk Armagnac from its
cellars, managing a stock of 25,000 Hl and a range of products going
from 3*** to old vintages.
All of the group’s cellars have implemented
very important follow-ups and controls with regard to the vines.
Specialized teams of technicians follow up from pruning to harvest,
almost all the vineyards of member wine-growers.
With the aim of guaranteeing Quality to our
customers, in the most comprehensive sense of the word, CVG cellars
today work with the HACCP referential, and the ISO 9002 and 14000
quality standards.
The aim of these various quality standards is to
list the critical points which pose a threat to quality, to clearly
define and apply working methods and to ensure total wine traceability
to integrate the entire chain from the vineyard, without
forgetting environmental issues.
The member wine-growers of our
co-operative cellars wish, by amongst othersthrough actions like the
‘‘Contrats Territoriaux d'Exploitation’’ (C.T.E.) or
Territorial Operating Contracts, to further improve the quality of
their work or fight against pollution using regulated agriculture methods.
